A day in the life at our Prep School
Prep School starts at 8:40am when our teachers collect us from the playground and take us to our classrooms. On a Monday, Wednesday and a Friday we have morning assembly where we discuss different topics, listen to visitors and celebrate the successes of our friends. On Tuesday and Thursday we have form time where we can share class ideas and information.
Lessons begin at 9.15 am and we usually have Mathematics and Literacy in the morning. We are all encouraged to help and support each other and share our ideas and thoughts. Our teachers give us feedback and targets to meet so that we can keep learning and improving.
Break time starts at 10:30am, where we have time to meet our friends from other classes, and play games. We have a healthy snack and relax before the beginning of the next lesson.
After break, it is back into the classroom for the remainder of our morning lessons, which alongside the Maths and English, often include Science and Computers.
At lunchtime, we sit with children from other year groups and talk about all the interesting and exciting things we have been doing. The lunches are always lovely and once each half term we vote for a student choice of lunch. During lunchtime play many of us dance, go to choir, look after the library, play football, skip or help with some of the youngest members of the school.
In the afternoon, we take part in lots of different activities such as History, Geography, P.E, Games, Forest Schools, Art and Design and R.E. In these lessons we can achieve individual and class awards in different areas of the curriculum, which we are really proud of.
Prep School lessons finish at 3.30pm but many of us then take part in after school clubs where we can join in lots of different team sports, dance, gymnastics, science and art.
