A Day in the life in Pre Prep School
At 8.40 am, we line up in the playground and our Pre Prep School teachers come out to meet us and our parents. On Mondays we go swimming at Bingley Baths where we learn new skills and gain our swimming certificates and badges. After taking the register we go upstairs for assembly and, on Friday, we look forward to seeing who has been awarded the merit badge in each class and which house has managed to win the most house points. We enjoy coming together with the rest of the school, singing songs and thinking about important things.
Back in our classrooms we begin with practising our cursive handwriting, then our phonics and do some reading before Maths or English activities. We love going outside to play, followed by milk time and a healthy snack. We listen to stories or share news and show and tell, then it’s time for more Maths and English activities before lunchtime play.
Sometimes we run down to the local park with our Running Club coaches for extra fresh air and exercise before we enjoy a lovely lunch, or we chat in French in French Club. In summer we get to play up on the field which is great fun or we go to the Lodge playground and enjoy the outdoor equipment with some of the younger pupils.
Then it’s another chance to play with the bouncy hoppers, hoops, skipping ropes and the footballs outside before heading in for our next topic, Science or Art, where we learn about the world around us, investigate, explore, ask questions and be creative. We can learn to play table tennis and we especially enjoy Games afternoons with when we practise our skills and learn to work as a team.
After school, we can take part in Gym, Ballet, Show Practice, Football, Rugby or Rounders Clubs, or Creative Clay play.
